Did it? He "closed the borders" and yet tens of thousands of people
came from China to the USA since then.

You seem to lack the understanding of what a travel ban means.

I understand -- it seems that you and Trump do not.

It should be obvious. As this is not a trick question.
Travel Ban means exactly that. No Travel in to the U.S. from China
So please do explain how "tens of thousands of people" came from China
    to the USA since then.

Nearly 40,000 Americans and authorized travelers have come into the U.S.
from China since President Trump imposed travel restrictions more than
two months ago, the New York Times reports.

Why it matters: Trump has suggested that his action to ban foreigners
from entering the U.S. if they were in China before early February has contributed to lower COVID-19 cases and fatalities in the U.S.

"I cut off China very early. And if I didn't, we would have a chart that
you wouldn't believe," Trump said at a briefing on Friday, referring to
White House models on where the virus has spread in the U.S. and how
many deaths have occurred. Details: 279 flights from China have arrived
in the U.S. since Trump's travel restrictions were announced, "and
screening procedures have been uneven," the Times notes.

And now, he is banning legitimate immigrants from entering the country.
Since the USA has more covid-19 infections than the next four countries combined, it is difficult to see what that ban will accomplish. OTOH,
it might well save the lives of thousands of immigrants.

Just wait when the second wave hits. And then the third wave.
Everything in life comes in three. Even the Spanish Flu. Just
    like life/birth/death.

Spanish Flu - first wave was the smallest, second wave the largest,
third wave between the first and the third. March 1918 to Summer 1919
was duration of all three waves, although cases of Spanish Flu did
continue for 38 years after initial infections.

I've been following this thread for awhile. Trump makes being a racist
'cool'. These people would thrive and LOVE to live in the time of Nazi Germany. As they say history repeats itself.

There are two sides to every story. Sometimes more than two sides.

Hitler gained power through legal means. Told the people exactly
what he would do. He kept his word.

He told the people he would get rid of all the political parties.
Which is exactly what he did once he became Chancellor.

He told the people he would make Germany great again.
Which is exactly what he did once he became Chancellor.

He told the people everything, in a soft and gentle way.
And the people believed him, and even worshipped him as their
    savior.

After he became Chancellor, an election was held. His party
won the vast majority of seats, and Hitler retained his title
    of Chancellor.

It was not until the end of the war that some of the people
began to realize their lord and savior was not the man they
    had thought he was.

Even after the war many of the people questioned those who
had liberated them as to why they had bombed their cities, schools,
hospitals, and everything else that mattered.

There was no shoah, or holocaust. Hitler had asked the world
to take them in, but the world refused. With no place else to
go, the Jewish people then found their way to Palestine ...

Anything that wouldn't help in any way with the Covid-19.
There several initiatives: money for Green New Deals, money for the Kennedy Center. Yes, I know the first lady is a member, so was the former first lady Michelle Obama and others are on the board. Does not matter who is on the board it's still wrong for Stimulus money that is suppose to support the American people during this pandemic.

    Facts about Joe Biden?
There are many facts about Joe Biden.
He has been in politics for nearly 50 years..
    What has he accomplished?

The gaffs from the guy have convinced me that he is the wrong choice for a Democratic candidate for President.
He does not know what day it is or what state he is in.
When talking about the U.S. Constitution - You know, the thing... What?
He was insulting numerous times to people who have gathered at his events. Calling one women a dog faced pony solider in the state of New Hampshire.
With a day or two he left for South Carolina without addressing his
    supporters.

He swore at a automotive plant that he visited as a campaign stop.
He said - Bullshit your wrong. When a autoworker called him out on the subject of gun rights.

    You want more facts?
This guy is babbling fool, More facts are waiting and can be talked here, but I don't think any of them are going to be useful or helpful to prove your case that he is the correct choice for President.

spoke to Dale Shipp about Covid-19 bill <=-

She is a snake, you as well as others are blind
    not having the vision
to see, what she is. It will not take much effort to understand.

You have learned well from Trump -- if you have no argument, use
    derogatory names.

When you do not have any facts, attack the character of the opponent.

Those calls of "Point of Order" were to prevent the Republican members frequent attempts to name the whistleblower -- which would have been against the law.

Wait a minute now, wasn't the whistleblower suppose to be a secret?

Yes, and that is why Schiff blocked the Republicans from outing his name
    to the public.

How did shifty shiff know that the whistleblower's name was about to
    be spoken?

Because the Republicans telegraphed exactly what they were about to do
-- just to make a stink.

    GOTCHA! lol
    again

Not at all. Schiff did the right thing.

Just look at her initiatives and what she tried to stuff into the
    covid-19
stimulus, ask yourself this question is that relative remotely to the American people suffering due to covid-19, those things are ridiculous

What were her initiatives that you are complaining about?

Anything that wouldn't help in any way with the Covid-19.

There several initiatives: money for Green New Deals, money for the Kennedy Center. Yes, I know the first lady is a member, so was the
former first lady Michelle Obama and others are on the board. Does not matter who is on the board
it's still wrong for Stimulus money that is suppose to support the American people during this pandemic.

Did those minor things get into the final bill? IIRC, they were less
than 1% of the total cost. What I also remember is that she fought to
make certain that small business and public health people/facilities got
a decent share instead of it going to big corporations. Unfortunately,
some millions of dollars did go to big corporations, e.g. Ruth Chris
    restaurant chain.

If you want to know what Biden would do
    joebiden.com/covid19
Yeah, No Thanks it would be a complete waste of time, because sleepy Joe does not have a snowball's chance in hell in beating Trump.

Ah -- too busy or lazy to look up facts, so you just make them up or
copy them from the Fox entertainment network.

Busy yeah I am - It's called work.

Then you should not talk about what he might or might not do until you
do find out, instead of speaking from ignorance or pabulum fed to you by
    the Fox News entertainment network.

    Facts about Joe Biden?
There are many facts about Joe Biden.
He has been in politics for nearly 50 years..

I.e. he has a lot more experience and political wisdom than Trump who
learned from failed real estate deals and a reality show.

    What has he accomplished?

He has done much for the working person over the years. That is his
    core value.

The gaffs from the guy have convinced me that he is the wrong choice
for a Democratic candidate for President.

Do you have a correct choice for a Democratic candidate for President?

He swore at a automotive plant that he visited as a campaign stop.
He said - Bullshit your wrong. When a autoworker called him out on the subject of gun rights.

I saw that clip, and Biden was right.

    You want more facts?
    This guy is babbling fool,

There you go again -- cannot mount a reasonable argument based on

    Telegraphed?
Oh I see - yeah that's ridiculous you expect me to believe that it was
like a written script to a TV show, and that these people were merely repeating the memorized words. rrright?

No, Adam Schiff knew all along who the whistleblower was, even though his office denied it, this guy has lied so many times he can not deceiver a lie from the truth.

The Republicans were the ones trying to get to the bottom and to the truth of these allegations that the Democrats said were true of which was based on

Joe Biden when mentioning the U.S.Consititution, "You know the thing".

I did not say that you made a personal attack on me this time, but resorted to dinigrating the people you are arguing about as if that

When I do it's out of sheer frustration with folks that get it so completely, wrong, they do not understand because they are opposed and ignorant to what
is being said. Then these same people go out of their way to twist and to contort as well as take out of context because they have a liberal or a democratic agenda.

Did you actually watch the hearing, did you just listen to the Fox News entertainment network about it? They did have a prepared script, and
said exactly what they were about to do.

Yes is time that I can never get back.
It is a fine example of how not to conduct fairness with a hearing.
That was not remotely the way things are to work in America, w/ no counsel
from the President was allowed. It was a like a Banana-Repuplic court.

The Republicans were the ones trying to get to the bottom and to the truth of these allegations that the Democrats said were true of which was based on 2nd hand and 3rd hand hearsay.

    A. they could listen and watch the same testimony as anyone else.
    B. there was testimony from people with direct involvement.

It was discovered within this process that many people that the Democrats brought forward had no such involvement. Schiff and his band of like-mined democrats were hoping for bombshell testimony to prove their case against the President. As the endgame was to remove from office a dully elected President of the United States.

They failed at the Impeachment hearings.
The only thing that the Democrats proved is incompetence.
Adam wins the Dunce award as well as the deserved title to be known
evermore as Pencilneck Adam Schiff. Ticonderoga Pencil company should sue.

The actual Impeachment also failed to bring the verdict that they were
    trying to prove.

Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters, Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi all belong in Federal Prison for the charge of and the conviction of treason.
This will never happen, but their professional judgment, should be forever questioned. The people responsible for putting them in office, should now remove them from office at the next election, so that all of us have a
    greater tomorrow.

This Democratic Party is wasteful with our tax dollars, incompetent in their judgment and arrogant in their thinking, which all equates to being
    obstructive to American progress.

    Sounds a lot like Trump.

Nah, he can't, because Obama never said that. That's

Obama left a lot of handout seekers empty-handed when he left office. When a white man took over, Michelle Obama said she felt like her family was being evicted from the White House - that's racist, selfish, and unproductive for

Yes is time that I can never get back.
It is a fine example of how not to conduct fairness with a hearing.
That was not remotely the way things are to work in America, w/ no
counsel from the President was allowed. It was a like a Banana-Repuplic court.

You have a FOX news lack of understanding of the procedures that are
followed in an investigation. What the House did is similar to a
Grand Jury. There are no defendant counsel allowed there either. Of
course counsel for the President were allowed at the actual trial.

The actual Impeachment also failed to bring the verdict that they were trying to prove.

That was expected. The Republican Senate would not even allow witness testimony. They violated their oath to have a fair trial, having made
up their mind well before hearing any testimony.

Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters, Charles Schumer and Nancy Pelosi all

She wasn't "bitching about the Trumps [sic] taking
over". She didn't even mention the first family.
When asked if she was optimistic about the country
    she said, "yes."

Her"Bye Felicia" comment was not necessary.

    from: https://www.dictionary.com/e/slang/bye-felicia/
The term bye Felicia has been popular in Black culture since the 1990s when
the film was released, although the original spelling of the name "Felisha"
has changed to the more common (and, some would point out, more "white") spelling, Felicia.

Bye Felicia is considered by some to be an example of white culture appropriating black culture, often with little knowledge of the original
source material. Friday, the film from which the phrase originates, has been
a popular and beloved cult classic in modern American black culture, though
the phrase's sudden rise in popularity is several times removed from the
film. It's important to keep all this context in mind when using or encountering the phrase.

You have a FOX news lack of understanding of the procedures that are followed in an investigation. What the House did is similar to a
Grand Jury. There are no defendant counsel allowed there either. Of
course counsel for the President were allowed at the actual trial.

Yeah but more of what Fox News has been reporting, is now your new GD>reality. The deep state is unraveling and disintegrating.
In the process -it must be beyond panic mode at CNN and MSNBC.

What you're seeing recently is democrat deep staters squirming on the hook. They're becoming edgy because of the Michael Flynn case. They've tried to disparage Trump and drive his numbers down over the coronavirus, but that didn't work.

The actual Impeachment also failed to bring the verdict that they
    were trying to prove.

That was expected. The Republican Senate would not even allow witness testimony.

There was no need for any. The entire case was a democrat fraud; a put-up job based on lies. Adam Schiff was completely exposed as a liar, his deceit was even further exposed by this acting director of one of the intelligence outfits, he and a lot of others were also exposed as having revealed Michael Flynn's name several times for no other reason than to prevent Flynn from actually starting to work in the job he'd been appointed to. Schiff tried to keep important evidence hidden.

They violated their oath to have a fair trial, having made
up their mind well before hearing any testimony.

They violated nothing! The whole thing was a complete gigantic democrat scam, and it is beginning to unravel.

Never should of went that far in the first place.

prove such. Adam Schiff, Maxine Waters, Charles Schumer and Nancy
Pelosi all belong in Federal Prison for the charge of and the
    conviction of treason.

Then you do not understand the meaning of the word treason.

I don't know what plotting to take out a legally elected president even before he's been sworn in is called. But it could be described as `treason' I
    suppose.

BTW....one of the biggies in on the cabal (James Clapper?) was being interviewed by remote camera a day or so ago. He was asked a tough question that pertained to the attempted coup....and he did a `fade-out'!

I was complaining about Michelle Obama, and you said that I was doing i because I'm racist. That's how you're manipulating blacks; by declaring it "racist" to complain about one of them. Like if I complain about a woman you'll manipulate women by calling me "sexist," or if I complain about an illegal, you'll manipulate latinos by calling them "hard workers" or something.

Ah, except here's the thing: you have no real reason
to complain about her. I mean, everything you write
about her is a deliberate lie. So it begs the question,
why go out of your way to invent something to be angry
about? What's the point? You must have some deep
seated hatred of her to go out of your way and expend
so much mental energy on someone who you don't know,

Right. "You're the one who's stoked racially," your stokedness.

I just don't understand why you won't admit your racism.

plan on voting for Donald "I take no responsibility"
    Trump again.

Trump's been trying to stop illegal immigrants for years, while you and your friends, the Democrats, bend over backwards to keep the border tor open. Are you angry with my friend Trump for wanting to close the border? Because that's not what you were saying a couple months ago whe your party was complaining that they wanted illegals to pass freely lik migratory birds.

See there you go again lying and attempting to deflect.

More than 80,000 Americans are dead because of Donald Trump's
lying and incompetence. What do borders have to do with it?

And why the continual lies, anyway? I don't know anyone who

Donald J. Trump is not a registered voter anywhere else, either.
So what is he? Since he is not a registered voter, what does
    that make him to be?

I am being serious about this, and not joking.
    Trump did move to Florida.
Why? Because he did not want to pay taxes as a resident of New York.
But after he moved to Florida he wanted to build a dock at Mar-a-Lago.
Problem is, Mar-a-Lago is not a residence, but a private club.
Which means Donald J. Trump has no official residence.
Meaning he is not a registered voter.

I just find it funny that you get all up in arms about
that throw-away joke comment but "Grab 'em by the Pussy"
    is OK. Gotcha.

Up at arms, No. I was merely mentioning it, I could care less what Michael
    does.

A self-admitted sexual predator deserves no praise from anybody.

Yeah Trump said that before he was President, but he was elected anyway & he
    will be re-elected in November.

Almost three million more Americans voted for his opponent,
who had received no help from Vladimir Putin or Russia. Of
course, the current occupant of the White House is merely
an orange stain on the carpet that will be removed by the
next president. Which all will celebrate this coming January.

Poll: Biden holds 11-point lead over Trump

    Source: The Hill

Former Vice President Joe Biden leads President Trump by double
digits in the race for the White House, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll released on Wednesday.

The poll shows Biden with an 11-point advantage over Trump in a
national head-to-head match-up. Fifty percent of those surveyed said
they currently plan on voting for the former vice president, while 39
percent said they would vote for Trump.

"What does the 11 point Biden lead tell us? At best for Team Trump,
it says voter confidence in President Trump is shaky,” Tim Malloy, a
polling analyst at Quinnipiac University, said. “At worst for them,
as coronavirus cases rise, Trump's judgement is questioned — and
    November looms.”

The poll is the latest evidence that Trump’s handling of the
coronavirus pandemic has put his reelection in jeopardy ahead of
November. At the same time, the president’s strongest argument for
another term — a strong economy — has largely disintegrated as the
outbreak has caused businesses to shutter and the unemployment rate
    to skyrocket.

That's hilarious. The "appeal to age" argument. You remind me
very much of the Lords of Fidonet who liked to exert their authority
over kids back in the 90s.

But how can you live in a world where people have a different opinion on stuff like the president's performance?

Oh, that's easy. It's fine to have different opinions about things
that are objectively factual. But when one side of the political
divide insists on burying its head in the sand and ignoring facts,
then there's no longer a debate or mere "difference of opinion."
With someone as dangerous as Trump, who's objectively incompetent,
and who is actively killing tens of thousands of Americans through
his ignorance and indifference, we cannot simply "agree to disagree."

divide insists on burying its head in the sand and ignoring facts,

Trump's a pretty good president for me. I don't see how any of the deaths are his fault.

I also don't see any Russian collusion with Trump's campaign, and I don't see him taking advantage of the Ukrainian president.

Presidents will do stuff that annoy people. Just because we support Trump
now, doesn't mean he can't piss us off further down the road. But we don't
want that to happen; we want him to succeed and score more victories for the USA. If he fails, then oh well! He would need to complete a lot of
terrible failures between now & November to convince me to go Jobama.

Conservative voters don't hate Democrats; we want them to succeed too, when it's in the best interest of the USA. We don't give a crap about any other country until after our people are accommodated first.

He could have prepared for it better, but how did he do worse than any other

New Zealand has lost only 21 people due to COVID-19.
The US has lost almost 100,000 people due to COVID-19.

I do not believe either Kiwis or Americans have been drinking
bleach as a means of preventing COVID-19. Or taking anti-malarial
drugs. So it must be some other reason why more Americans are
dying of COVID-19 than anybody else in the world.

on, and the US Senate recently reported their conclusion that Russia did

But how is that Trump's fault?

collusion - n : secret agreement or cooperation for an illegal or
    deceitful purpose.

treason - n : the attempt of attempting to overthrow the government
of one's country or of assisting its enemies in war.

but in answer to your question...

new zealand land mass: 103483 miles^2
new zealand population: 4.8 million (May 2020)

rhode island land mass: 1212 miles^2

Then you have not been paying attention. His failure to take COVID seriously in the beginning cost tens of thousands of people's life.

He could have prepared for it better, but how did he do worse than any other world leader?

I'm glad that you admitted he could have done better, instead of
promising that it would go away like a miracle. There are many ways to
measure how the USA did versus other countries. By number of reported infections with COVID and number of deaths because of COVID, the USA
    outranks every other country.

Recent studies say that if "stay at home" recommendations had been made
as little as a week or two earlier then tens of thousands of people
    would not have died.

His leadership has been severely lacking. He pushes things to the
states with the result of anarchy. He suppresses the considered opinions
of scientists with expertise in the relevant field. He popularizes the
use of untested dangerous and ineffective medicines.

The first of those statistics depends on how much testing has done and
is thus suspect to some degree. For example, if only people with
symptoms are tested, then the rate of infections will be a lot higher.
If all people are tested, the rate of infections in that population will
    be lower.

The number of deaths is a hard statistic that can hardly be argued
against. The population of the USA is larger than some other major
countries, and so I think that the percentage of deaths per 100K
population is a good figure to focus on.

Looking at that measure that the USA has done better (so far) than some
other major countries (e.g. Italy, GB, Spain) (see the chart below). It
has done worse than other countries, e.g. Canada.

    Hello mark,

New Zealand has lost only 21 people due to COVID-19.
The US has lost almost 100,000 people due to COVID-19.

But isn't New Zealand like the size of Rhode Island?

physical land mass or map boundaries don't matter, really... population
density and interaction, on the other hand, do matter...

    Macao - 45 cases, 45 recovered, 0 new cases

Funny that. 0 deaths. Absolutely none.

    32.9 square kilometers in size.
    676,100 population.
    20,550 people per square kilometer.
    0 deaths.

Maybe we should all move to Macao.

but in answer to your question...

new zealand land mass: 103483 miles^2
new zealand population: 4.8 million (May 2020)

    21 deaths.

rhode island land mass: 1212 miles^2
rhode island population: 1.06 million (2020)

I could look it up, but the US as a whole has 98,000+ deaths.
Since many folks move around from place to place, it is impossible
to put an exact number as to how many have died in each state.

    Hello Aaron,

New Zealand has lost only 21 people due to COVID-19.
The US has lost almost 100,000 people due to COVID-19.

But isn't New Zealand like the size of Rhode Island?

It is not the size of the land mass that matters.
For example, globally the average population density
is 25 people per square kilometer.

The US has a population density of 36.
New Zealand has a population density of 18.

Greenland has a population density of 0.2 per square kilometer,
making it the least dense place on Earth (other than Antarctica).

Now compare those places with Macao, Monaco, Singapore, Hong
Kong, and Gibraltar. Lots and lots of people on very little land.

Some folks might object, claiming that Macao and Hong Kong are
part of China, Monaco is a principality and not even a city much
less a state, and that Gibraltar is just a rock. But Singapore
is a state, even though it is a city, and has population density
of nearly 8,000 people per square kilometer, more than 200 times
as dense as the US, and 2000 times as dense as Australia.

And if you don't think those places qualify as countries, there
is always Bangladesh, which has a population density of 1,252 people
per square kilometer, which is almost three times as dense as India.

So. There you go. Be thankful you live in the USA, which has
a population density of what qualifies as rural in comparison
    with those places.

Recent studies say that if "stay at home" recommendations had been made

He could have tried to make it mandatory that all Americans don't leave their property unless going to the hospital, then arrange for food/medicine to be delivered. Also, he could have shut down all international travel

My state governor did institute a stay at home "sugestion in mid March
and then a stay at home order with teeth on March 30. The result was a
much better record with respect to deaths than other states with early infections who stayed more open.

Also, he could have shut down all

As a huge Trump supporter, I'll say that he was weak on his corona virus response. But to his credit, he's still making good on his campaign promises. That's what sets him apart from the last few presidents in office. And I
can't imagine Hillary Clinton or Joe Biden doing any better than Trump's weak response.

I can't help but to suspect that Joe Biden wants to cash in on China's scheme to sell us medical supplies amid the outbreak.

Didn't he eventually do that in essence, albeit after the disease was already here.

Unfortunately, I think either Trump or whoever calls these shots, has screwed that up too. As far as I know, international travel is still open and
allowed, except for a few specific countries like China, UK, and Brazil. We obviously can't stop illegal international travel, but my buddies aren't stopping legal international travel either, despite having a good reason to
    do so.

So we've still got people coming from many parts of the world coming to NY to snap photos of the statue of liberty, and we've got stubborn Americans who think they're immune to the virus, taking trips to Cancun, or wherever else they wanna go.

Does the president have the power to shut it all down? Or would that necessitate a house vote?

What "victories" has he scored, precisely? Again, be specific.

Conservative voters don't hate Democrats; we want them to succeed too, when it's in the best interest of the USA. We don't give a crap about

I've heard this before; people don't know what is meant by conservative vs liberal. I took World Politics 101, and the course taught me that
conservatives don't want to waste money, and they put the USA first, while liberals do want to waste money, and they want to be governed by

I used to be a college kid. I wanted to see limits on greenhouse gases, and I wanted to be friends with all the nice Islamic people. But then I graduated & got a feel for the real world and noticed that the USA is wasting tons of

However, India seems to have some problems counting professions, I found statements that up to 45% of the lawyers might be fake, so let's just assume 0.72 million.

On 26 May 2020 at 05:55p, Aaron Thomas pondered and said...

way, you shouldn't use the word "we" when talking about conservatives, since you aren't one if you support Trump.

I've heard this before; people don't know what is meant by conservative
vs liberal. I took World Politics 101, and the course taught me that conservatives don't want to waste money, and they put the USA first,
while liberals do want to waste money, and they want to be governed by international law.

Wow, your "World Politics 101" professor wasn't very good.

    What you're describing is nationalism.

Classically, a Liberal is someone who believes in the
perfectibility of humans: that is, that we can be greater
    than that that are.

A conservative, by contrast, is one who believes that we
are fundamentally corruptible and must be placed into a rigid
structure to curb our baser instincts, for our own good.

Liberals favor freedom and work for the common good.
Conservatives favor structure and limiting the individual
    for the common good.

This has morphed, of course; now, Liberals are still about
freedom, but also about using the state as an apparatus to
support that as well as provide for general equity.
Generally, liberals want to see society evolve to be more
inclusive and egalitarian. They do not feel fettered by
the confines of tradition as a motivator, or adherence to
    a rigid social structure.

Conservatives are about limiting the role of the state, and
slowing the rate of social change. They see tradition as
the model for future growth, favoring individual discovery
of better ways of being by working within the confines of
a existing, strongly proscribed social order.

There is much to be admired in this _true_ conservative
ideal. Certainly, being careful and introspective with
sweeping social change is, on its face, laudable. Limiting
the role of government in lives is useful as an aspiration,
    as well.

Unfortunately, classic conservatism has been usurped by
right-wing forces that favor authoritarianism and want to
halt, not just slow, social change. Liberals have long
recognized that the fundamental problem with the conservative
approach is that, very often, there's just not all that much
that's good in those rigid social structures and traditions:
too often, they exist to maintain a status quo in which one
group dominates another to the enrichment of the former and
great detriment (including, yes, loss of freedom) of the
latter. True conservatives can recognize this and discuss it
rationally and acknowledge that, yes, these corrupted traditions
should be discarded wholesale: the right-wing, however, sees
them as an opportunity to gain power and enrich itself.

    So ... that's what you really are: a right-winger, not a
conservative. Don't believe me? Well, you support Trump:
remember that one of his campaign planks was to pump a
trillion dollars into the economy to build up our infrastructure?
Since when is government funding on such a massive scale a
conservative ideal? And that's just One example.

I used to be a college kid. I wanted to see limits on greenhouse gases, and I wanted to be friends with all the nice Islamic people. But then I graduated & got a feel for the real world and noticed that the USA is wasting tons of money on crap like the WHO, losing tons of money on crap like the Paris Accord, opening itself up for attacks by foreign extremists, and letting career politicians fool weak-minded people with propaganda.

Seems like you're the one who's weak minded and bought the
propaganda. When I see extremism in this country, I mostly
see its own citizens, particularly the right-wingers. Who
shows up to rallies with guns and all tac'ed out like some
third-rate SPECOPS wannabes, or maybe just a bunch of
never-served losers doing military cosplay with ARs? These
are the same people who "prep" by buying a bunch of cheap
Baofeng UV-5r HTs and stuffing them into Pelican cases, but
who have no idea to maintain them after they break the first
time they drop them. What a bunch of posers.

It's funny that you think we "lost" a bunch of money to the
Paris Accord. How so? Seems to be that there were 4x as
many people working in clean energy (solar etc) when Trump
came into office as were working in coal, but what'd he double
down on? We _could_ have opened new markets and become the
world's leader on something that is clearly going to be hot:
instead, under our "conservative" leadership, we went in for
something that was already getting its ass kicked in the market
on its own lack of merits. Really smart. We just handed that
market to China while we cling to our dying assets.

The WHO was giving us an inside look into COVID-19 early this
year via its backchannels; we should have gotten ready, instead
Trump ignored it and downplayed it while he golfed, tweeted,
and held rallies. He's so dumb he even retweeted a picture
of himself fiddling, alluding to Nero fiddling as Rome burned.
But that's what you get when you elect a president who doesn't
read and doesn't listen to actual experts.

And I noticed you again ignored my question: what has Trump
done for you, specifically, that's so great? What are his major accomplishments as you see them?

FDR was a fiscal conservative, saving America from itself - both
the economy and the nation. Trump is not a conservative of any kind,
but an absolute disaster - both for the economy and for the nation.

I used to be a college kid.

So was I. Once upon a time. But I have since grown up and learned
to live in the real world, where actions do have consequences.

I wanted to see limits on greenhouse gases, and I wanted to be friends with
    all the nice Islamic people.

While I am still hopeful to see limits on greenhouse gases, I do
have friends with very nice Muslims - both here in the US and around
    the world.

But then I graduated & got a feel for the real world and noticed that the
USA is wasting tons of money on crap like the WHO,

We cannot save the world by ourselves even if we wanted to.
That is why it is best to encourage others to join us, including
contributing to organizations such as WHO to do that.

losing tons of money on crap like the Paris Accord,

Without air to breathe, and land to live on, we will become extinct.

opening itself up for attacks by foreign extremists,

We are doing that just fine without any help from anybody else.

and letting career politicians fool weak-minded people with propaganda.

Americans want change they can believe in. And Americans will get
what they want this coming January. Not just hope, but real change.

According to what I learned in Dan Cross Liberal University, I'm in favor of
conservative values, putting the USA first, and voting to erase the

Residence is not the same as citizenship.

Just because a lawyer resides in the US does not mean
he/she is a citizen. A citizen means a person who legally
belongs to a country, while a resident is a person who is
legally living in a particular locality.

I knew a fellow from Pakistan who was a lawyer in Miami.
He never bothered becoming a citizen in the US, even though
he brother was a US citizen. Unfortunately, the people he
represented were not the finest characters in the world, and
he died at a relatively young age. But that is Miami vice,
something far better suited for Don Johnson & Co.

I really wish Trump would just lay off Twitter completely and
find a decentralized platform instead of advocating expansion of the Communications Decency Act with that social-media order. I thought it was really unnecessary and bad-timing.

Maybe nobody will care too much with the MN riots and Biden gaffes but one of the best things about conservative voices getting censored, is that it really festers itself on re-tweets, Youtube complaints and lesser-known news outlets getting some traction by covering this disturbing trend.

Trump has it within him to really expose the level of deep-nested
corruption of the mass media but effectively shot himself in the foot here. If he is in fact worth 2 billion to Twitter, he could screw them overnight by orchestrating his own "walk away" movement.

My sources don't say anything about citizenship, they just counted the total
    number of lawyers.

Lawyers are like doctors, conducting their practice in residence.

You claimed that U.S. citizens sued each other a lot.

This is what I wrote -

The US has more lawyers than the rest of the world combined.
The US also has more idiots than the rest of the world combined.
Put the two together and what do you have? Idiots suing idiots.
The perfect combination for lawyers to make a mint.

I never mentioned "US citizens". I did mention the US having
"more idiots than the rest of the world combined" - which will
be difficult to refute given the history of the Darwin Awards.

It can be deduced that given a population of 330 million people
that US citizens sue each other a lot. Nobody in his/her right
mind will dispute that. But lawyers will never limit themselves
to US citizens suing US citizens. After all, there is money to
    be made.

Israel has 1 lawyer per 139 people. That makes Israel having
the most lawyers per capita. Uruguay comes in second, with 1 lawyer
per 140 people. The US is far behind those two heavyweights.

I know of no study that compares the number of idiots per capita
for each country. So your guess is as good as mine. The best I can
do is inform you that the US is the most lititigous country in the
world. Not only do idiots sue idiots, but everybody sues everybody.
I mean, that is what lawyers are there for. They provide a service
    for people.

What is a citizen? Does it even matter? Idiots sue other idiots.
Some are citizens, some are not. I am not even sure idiots realize
what the difference is, or if there is a difference. An idiot is
    an idiot is an idiot.

Do they hire foreign lawyers for that?

I knew a lawyer from Pakistan. He was hired by lots of folks
not from the US. But he was an idiot, and never quite made it
    back home ...

Lawyers in this country are from all over. Some of them work for
large corporations, making more than you or me can ever imagine.
Not all lawyers are in private practice, but most do go where the
    money is.

Do you think there are at least twice as much lawyers working with a green
    card than U.S. citizens?

Who said anything about a green card? Do realize there is 1 lawyer
for every 22 people in Washington DC, but very few who are employed
as lawyers. Remember that the next time you hire a taxi driver to
take you somewhere in that city.

Or do you think most lawyers are illegal immigrants?

Only in California, where one doesn't even have to go to school
to become a lawyer. What they do is stock fruits and vegetables
for practicing lawyers, making them a resident in training. To
become a full-fledged resident one must pass a test, which can
be taken as many times as necessary ...

Moreover, that's just three countries on the left hand side of the
    inequation.

Doesn't matter. 70% of the entire world is a lot of lawyers.

And while I used big ones, that's not even half the population on this
    planet.

The US is the land of plenty, and can never have an excess of lawyers.

Bodies that can not be given a proper burial, this is due to the COVID-19, in my personal opinion I think people are carrying this a little to far, blaming everything on COVID-19.

Retailers are closing earlier then they have ever before.
Can't get onions on my Egg McMuffin at McDonald's so they blame COVID-19
Can't freely walk down the isle any more, they are only one way - with arrows. Can't try on clothes or shoes at Target, not sure about Wal*Mart could be the same there, this makes no sense. Covid-19 is respiratory in nature.
It does not cause laziness - so do don't be closing early.
There is no danger of bi-directional walkways down supermarket isles.
We are all wearing masks - me included. When shopping.

What he said was in jest. And do remember who he was talking to. Charlamagne tha God. Most people understood exactly what Joe Biden
meant. Calling Charlamagne tha God a `nothingburger' really made my
day, as well as most others.

I see why you would want to call it a `nothingburger' but this will stick & will gain traction.

Joe Biden with an 11-point lead. And he is just getting warmed up.

Again with your polls, what is the source of your poll, and it is biased to make the masses believe in something that is not remotely true.

James Carville is not worried. And neither am I. The one thing we
both agree on is it is all over for Trump & Co.

You're cousin James Carville may not live long enough to see the election.

I really wish Trump would just lay off Twitter completely and
find a decentralized platform instead of advocating expansion of the Communications Decency Act with that social-media order. I thought it
    was really unnecessary and bad-timing.

It's called the "Chicken and egg" problem.

People go to Twitter because that's where the audience is.
The audience goes to Twitter because that's where the people they want to hear are.

Maybe nobody will care too much with the MN riots and Biden gaffes but
one of the best things about conservative voices getting censored, is
that it really festers itself on re-tweets, Youtube complaints and lesser-known news outlets getting some traction by covering this disturbing trend.

Trump has it within him to really expose the level of deep-nested corruption of the mass media but effectively shot himself in the foot here. If he is in fact worth 2 billion to Twitter, he could screw them overnight by orchestrating his own "walk away" movement.

I think he sees much more value in letting Twitter "hang themselves".

He's already baited Twitter into being the publisher that they are. Now the Executive Order is signed to have the FCC evaluate and remove Section 230 protections from Twitter.

Hopefully we will see a flood of law suites (justified or not, it makes no difference) shortly after that and Twitter collapses in a pile of unpaid legal bills.

That will send a strong message to the other sites that have Section 230 protections to clean up their act.

    Hello Charles,

"The world has never had a good definition of the word liberty." ~ Abraham Lincoln What is liberty? What is your definition? Do you
even have a definition? Or even an idea of what liberty is, or
might be? Is liberty the right to do something that you ought to
do? Is liberty the right to do what one deserves, with
restrictions? Is liberty something else altogether?

    That's a very good question.
    From Oxford Languages:
    noun:liberty

    1.

the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one's way of life, behavior, or political views.

This, I think is a good start.
Along with that definition, I would add that "free from oppressive restrictions" in society is not the same as free to do whatever you want. You can't kill someone just because. Neither would me walking up to you and punching you in the face be an example of liberty.
Liberty of behavior, which those examples above are not, would be, for example the often used example here in the USA of the bakers who declined to make a wedding cake for a homosexual couple because their religious views didn't agree
with the homosexual lifestyle. Another example of liberty of behavior would be for those who disagree with the bakers to boycott the bakers shop and give their business elsewhere to someone who doesn't hold that view.
For that matter, being able to have a relationship with whomever you wish, regardless of gender or ethnic background without government denying you such pursuit is liberty.

Does this adequately answer your question?

The narrative that the riots are mostly peaceful is part of a misinformation campaign by the press. Placing quotes around the word riots shows you don't question it. The left has turned into what they hate and don't even realize it.

    I hope that changes.

While many of the people have been arrested, the cities released them without bail the same evening so they returned to cause mayhem. And if you believe the riots are a small group of people, consider the mass damage these people managed to do. Take a look at all the looting that has been occuring in NYC. I read 900 people were arrested and quickly released in NYC alone. This is not an extreme minority. You'd like to think it's mostly peaceful but some of these large cities are saying that their police force is overwhelmed and asking for military assistance. Peaceful protests don't lose control.

My city, Sacramento, has had over fifty small businesses destroyed the last week and it's considered relatively peaceful. in my town, most of the
protests, during the day, are peaceful. It's only after dark that the looting occurs. But if you listen to the press, it's only a few. Ridiculous.

What nonsense. Have you been there? Have you seen what's
    happening?

Are you asking if I've been to every city? No. Have you?

Riots by definition aren't peaceful, but what's _actually_
happening is that, in the vast, vast majority of cases, it's
people who are out peacefully protesting, as is their right
    under the Constitution.

I'm all for protesting. It's part of what makes this country great. It's quite unfortunate that you believe everything your press tells you. Blinded.

Trying to paint _all_ protesters with the "riot" brush is
at best misleading and more likely deliberate.

I'm not, youre putting words in my mouth. I'm talking about the rioters. The damage being done isn't at the hand of a few. It is widespread and thorough.

Repeating a false claim doesn't make it any more true.

I've been to protests and seen the vast bulk of people
behaving peacefully and with good intent. A small number
sometimes turn up to cause trouble. Yet all the attention
is heaped on the relatively small number of trouble
    makers.

I'm glad you've been to protests and delighted that you are safe. What exactly are you protesting?

    I hope that changes.

I hope you people on the right wake up and start respecting
    the rights of the citizenry.

You're being ignorant. We're angry about the rioting, looting, killing and how it is being largely ignored and minimized. You're talking as if nothing seriously wrong is occuring. You think that what's happening in the present day is largely peaceful. Your experience is peaceful thankfully, but the damage speaks a different story.

The left has been protesting ever since the unelectable Hillary lost in 2016. If we were mad about anything it was the lies, ignorance, and hypocracy of leftist demands.

What I'd like to see, primarily, is classical liberals disowning the far left movement because they have wrecked your party.

While many of the people have been arrested, the cities released them without bail the same evening so they returned to cause mayhem. And if
you believe the riots are a small group of people, consider the mass damage these people managed to do. Take a look at all the looting that

that their police force is overwhelmed and asking for military
assistance. Peaceful protests don't lose control.

The way the NYPD usually works is that, _if_ a protest gets
out of hand, they corral a large number of people into an
enclosed space, take them into custody, and then process them:
the vast bulk are never charged and released immediately.
This is simply more efficient than trying to pick the
    perpetrators out in-situ.

Many of the perps arrested for rioting were released.

I've heard this old saw of "the police feel overwhelmed" many
times, and I call shenanigans. The military doesn't exist to
cater to the fantasies of right-wing would-be authoritarians.

By every accout, NYC has lost complete control of the streets over, by your repeated exaggeration, a few people.

Even Pat Robertson told Trump he's gone too far cracking down
on protesters, and now the Generals are coming out and rebuking
him publicly. It sure took Mattis long enough, though.

So what's it going to be: everyone else is wrong and Trump is
right, or the much more likely explanation that Trump's an
    idiot?

I have been quite critical of Trump for his emotional tweets this last week. But, the problem with the stanc eof the left is they have a view that the president is the only person responsible for what happens in the coutry. They ignore the fact that there's many layers of government elected below him responsible for their areas. The coutnry is intensely complex and, yet, when problems occur they never seem to blame their officials for the failings unless, of course, the president is a democrat.

My city, Sacramento, has had over fifty small businesses destroyed the last week and it's considered relatively peaceful. in my town, most of
the protests, during the day, are peaceful. It's only after dark that
the looting occurs. But if you listen to the press, it's only a few. Ridiculous.

    Is it, though?

Things have changed, at least in Sacramento. The groups attempted to create mayhem in some of our suburban areas but were obviously unaware that they are strong second amendment areas. It was short lived. Curfews were imposed only after the rioting caused serious problems. Newsom also lives nearby. While we dislike his politics, the organizations behind this mess are allied with him. He, nor his Aunt, wont let them shit where he eats.

Listen, I don't care what you believe, have at it. What happened to Floyd was a travesty for many reasons:

    1. He was brutally murdered so casually, in the light of day, and surrouded by witnesses.
    2. The police department attempted to qwell dissent with the cliche 'the officer was fired and the situation is under investigation,'
    3. They arrested the officer four days later only after being pressured by elected officials. Meanwhile, they utilized excessive police assets to protect him during those days.
    4. The murderer has had many reports of abuse in the past and never lost his job or faced charges.
    5. Institutional corruption in face of the coroner's autopsy report stating that he died from something other than asphyxia. They followed it with 'blood tests' knowing that these test can drag on, they hoped people would forget. Why wouldn't they? The press' audience has a very short memory span. They've learned to rely on it.
    6. More than a week passed for charges to be set for the other officers who simply stood there as if nothing was wrong. They even helped with the murder. 7. Not one witness felt compelled to pull the officer off Floyd. They just yelled while recording the video.
8, Floyd's own family pleaded, on national tv, for people to quit rioting and looting. Their words fell on deaf ears.
    8. The second amendment exists particularly for this sort of situation.

I've been outraged in the past from police corruption. One situation involved a gentleman in Fresno, California who posted often on police corruption. One day he reported about a van parked across the street from his house with the door open and an officer pointing surveillance gear at his house. This sort of harassment spooked him and it was reported on social media with fears that his life was in danger. He was later found charred after his house was set on fire. It was reported that he was stabbed multiple times but the autopsy report was unclear if it was the fire or the wounds that killed him. Attempted coverup of a law enforcement led murder.

Another story involved a retired CIA agent who was pursued by police. He had been working as a consultant for the CIA and was transporting top secret material. Fearing that the chain of custody of his assets were in jeapardy. he called his contact at the CIA to have them call the police off. After he pulled over, he got out of his car as ordered. He reached in his back pocket to show his credentials and they shot him. They casually stood over him as he bled out and only called the medics after he expired. People would argue that they felt he was pulling a weapon but he was wearing slacks and a button up shirt. Back pockets aren't typical holster locations and it would've been obvious he was unarmed. It was cold blooded murder.

There are many stories but that's two.

If you've been protesting, as you claim, I hope you are doing so for institutional reform of law enforcement and reinforced citizen protection from police brutality. If this is true, I'm completely behind you.

    Stay safe,

    Have you heard Fox News?

I'm glad you've been to protests and delighted that you are safe. What exactly are you protesting?

Me, personally? This was against a KKK rally in NYC. The
klan came out, with like 20 people, and several thousand
    showed up to the counter-protest.

Now days, I think it's important to acknowledge that Black
Lives really do matter. Historically, this hasn't been the
case; we have systemic policies that keep that community
from achieving equality. But right now I'm most concerned
about the police violence. The police are out of control,
drunk on their own power, and see themselves as separate
from the rest of the populace. They even refer to other
people as "civilians", even though they themselves are
civilians. It's disgusting. Limited immunity and police
    unions have got to go.
I hope you people on the right wake up and start respecting
    the rights of the citizenry.

Nah. You're lying. You are the one who is ignorant, my
friend, fed on a steady diet of Fox and right-wing talking
    heads. Wake up.

The left has been protesting ever since the unelectable Hillary lost in 2016. If we were mad about anything it was the lies, ignorance, and hypocracy of leftist demands.

Sounds like the right-wing during the Obama administration.
But you never saw him gassing his own people for a photo op
or praising dictators like King Jong Un.

Lies and hypocrisy, indeed. The right-wing simply lies so
they can indulge in their disgusting believe system of bigotry
and hate. What a bunch of sad, pathetic individuals.

What I'd like to see, primarily, is classical liberals disowning the far left movement because they have wrecked your party.

When you say, "your party" what party do you think I belong
to? Speaking of ignorance and all of that.

Many of the perps arrested for rioting were released.

Lies. The utter failure to hold Trump accountable in any way
is transparent to all, regardless of political leaning. You
can try to distort that truth, but that's why you'll lose in
November, if Trump doesn't concoct some kind of fake emergency
to simply seize power. But here's the litmus test: if he does
so, will you go along with him?

No, it doesn't. That's the masturbatious fantasy of the NRA
and other non-hackers who talk a good game about guns and
fetishize them, but have never heard a shot fired in anger.
